Joseph Crane, M.A. has been an astrologer, teacher, and writer on astrology since the late 1980’s, and has been involved with Kepler College since 2006. Over the years he has conducted courses on ancient and modern astrology, as well as counseling skills for astrologers, bringing together mythology, history, and philosophy with astrological purpose and technique. Joseph has combined knowledge of astrological technique and counseling experience to work with hundreds of clients and astrology students and has an active consulting practice.
Joseph is the author of A Practical Guide to Traditional Astrology (1997), Astrological Roots: The Hellenistic Legacy (2007), Between Fortune and Providence: Astrology and the Universe in Dante’s Divine Comedy (2012), and Astrology and the Lives of People: Finding Compassion, Character, and Heroism in the Horoscope (2023). Joseph has a BA in philosophy and an MA in counseling psychology. He has been a Buddhist practitioner since 1980. He lives in southern Rhode Island with his wife Penny and little dog Winston.
