Kate Petty has been a passionate student and practitioner of astrology for over thirty years. Since 2010, her primary focus has been on Hellenistic, early medieval, and Uranian astrology. She’s spoken at conferences in the US and abroad and published articles in online and print magazines. She holds a BA from the Evergreen State College in Transpersonal Psychology and Expressive Arts.

A longtime volunteer in the state women’s prison, she is fearlessly devoted to exploring the intersection of arts, spirituality, social justice, and meaning-making. Tending to existential concerns of those she’s served for almost two decades, she has created and facilitated programs in arts, grief-work, and self-care.

Like the maxim at Delphi, gnōthi seauton, Know Thyself, Kate sees astrology as an incredible tool for self-realization, as well as to understand others and the world around us. She is a visual artist living in Seattle, Washington, with her mostly hairless dog Pluto.
