In the 24 hours after birth, the Earth makes a complete rotation on its axis, which causes the sky to appear to rotate from east to west around the Earth, and the positions of the natal planets to align with the positions held by other natal planets and points in the birth chart. Such alignments are called primary directions and symbolically represent important manifestations of the natal promise. Primary directing is found in the texts of prominent astrologers including Dorotheus, Ptolemy, Masha’allah, Abu Ma’Shar, al-Qabisi, Bonatti, Lilly, Morinus, and even Alan Leo early in the 20th century.

1. Basic Astronomy and the Terminology of Primary Directions. Primary & Secondary Motion. Time-lords.

3. Measuring Time on the Celestial Equator. The Circles of Position of Regiomontanus and Placidus. Natal Promise as the Foundation of Prediction.
