Illuminating Relationships: Composite & Davison Charts

Once an understanding of individual relationship style is understood via the natal chart, we begin an analysis of the synastry or inter-connections between two charts. The final step in astrological relationship work is using the combined charts. The most popular of these are the Composite Chart and the Davison Relationship Chart.

By the end of this course, the students will:

  • Have an understanding of midpoint theory, history of Combined charts,
    and how each Combined chart is calculated.
  • Learn to delineate, interpret and discuss Relationship charts.
  • Be equipped to choose one or both Relationship charts as a useful tool for their astrological toolbox.
  • Gain a greater understanding of their own relationships, past or present.
  • Be able to assist clients gain a greater understanding of their relationship patterns.

Weekly topics:

  1. Review of Basic Relationship Analysis with example charts
    · History of Combined Charts
    · Midpoint Theory
    · Students will learn mathematical and historical basis for the combined charts
  2. The Composite Chart
    · Students learn and study the essence of the Composite Chart with examples
  3. The Davison Relationship Chart
    · Students learn and study the essence of the Davison Chart with examples
  4. Differences and similarities of the Composite and Davison Charts
    · Comparing the Composite and Davison charts side by side
    · Students study the two charts for several couples noting similarities and differences
    · Delineation Practicum
  5. Advanced Delineation Practicum – Further practice and delineation skills
    · Students learn more fine points about each of the combined charts, recognizing this final step in astrological relationship work and are encouraged to decide which chart they prefer to use

Hand, Robert. Planets in Composite: Analyzing Human Relationships. Redfeather, 1997.

Pre-requisites:

Fundamentals or equivalent. Must have an intermediate understanding of astrological principles and synastry.
