An introduction to additional basics of astrological symbolism and interpretation in current use from Ancient to Modern lineage.

The course starts with a review of Sun, Moon, Ascendant delineation, and continues on to zodiacs and house systems, lunar nodes and lunar phases, as well as configurations, accidental dignities, retrogrades and derivative houses, all to develop depth of interpretive skill for natal chart delineation.

The course covers:

  • A comparison of methods in the development of modern astrological traditions
  • A critique of several areas of astrological study including, but not restricted to, systems of planetary interpretation and a comparison of older and newer interpretive systems in current use
  • The process of natal chart synthesis and interpretation

Learn: 

  • To apply the analysis model to various systems of Western astrological traditions from medieval to modern use
  • To distinguish between the tools appropriate for natal chart interpretation
  • To understand the ethics for interpreting charts for clients and/or writing astrological claims for the public

By the end of RN102, students will have developed the skills necessary for evaluating chart information and identifying the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches. They will be able to synthesize the core astrological components and modify information into a coherent and meaningful interpretation without relying on outside resources.

Pre-requisite:

RN101, T104, or equivalent
